Scientific & Medical Writing / Editing

I decided to pursue my current career when I started writing my PhD thesis and realized that I enjoy writing about science much more than actually doing it. If you’ve had the opposite experience, I would love to take on some of your writing tasks so you can focus on the parts of your work that inspire you the most.
I specialize in cancer research, genetics, genomics, epigenetics, epigenomics, microbiology, and molecular biology, and have additional professional experience in bioinformatics / computational biology, biochemistry, drug development, immunology, stem cell biology, and other life sciences fields.
Manuscripts
Too busy to write up your cool new data for publication? I would be happy to take on the task of drafting your manuscript for submission to the journal of your choice.
The science and the statistical analysis are up to you, but I can take your outline or your poster and run with it.
Other technical writing
I also have extensive experience writing grant progress reports, technical marketing pieces, and other texts intended for a technical scientific audience. Contact me with a little information about your project and I’ll see what I can do!
Grants
Whether you’re a first-time grant writer or a seasoned applicant looking for a little extra support, I can help you write, edit, project manage, and submit your proposal.
My grant writing experience includes successful applications to CIHR, NIH, US DOD, Genome Canada, Genome BC, NRC IRAP, CFI, NSERC, Mitacs, MSFHR, and other funding agencies and start-up accelerator programs. I have coordinated and led the writing efforts for everything from small awards for one-time events to complex multimillion dollar proposals for large-scale multi-institutional research programs.
